- Biden Kicks Graham's Ass
Did we all see the show this morning? The first post Russert. It was the show he was to do last weekend, I believe Brian Williams said.
So, anyway ... is Lindsey Graham as ignorant as he sounds or is he simply and utterly awash in the rhetoric of the hardest right-wing nit-wit ideology? I hope Graham is on every week, it can only help Obama's cause.
Some points of bewilderment include ...
Campaign finance reform is not the "flip-flop" giant he pretends it is. It seems the GOP is more concerned about the amount Obama can now raise, which will far exceed McCain.
How DARE he accuse Obama of "doing anything to get elected" as if that doesn't drive politicians in general, but McCain has changed his tune to the extreme since 2000, while Obama seems to genuinely want to be a good, uniting, conscientious President. They both WANT to be President, of COURSE, but Graham attempts to call the kettle black, so to speak, when the GOP is as crooked as they come ... think of Katherine Harris in FL in 2000! Hypocrisy!
Graham fails to explain why the vast majority of area which is ALREADY available for offshore drilling isn't being used and yet, big oil wants MORE?!?!? Biden posed great commentary on this, Graham avoided it. Can it be that big oil wants to get all they can prior to the nearly inevitable overwhelming Democratic majority and loss of the White House? Um ... duh!
And Graham talks of $4.00 a gallon gas changing his mind on drilling off the coast of SC, FL, CA. Um, wait a second ... back in 2001 and 2002 energy experts met with Dick Cheney in a closed energy commission in which they foretold where we are now ... get that? It was already predicted SEVEN years ago ... Dick(head) Cheney stonewalled them and maintained the energy policy's emphasis on fossil fuels and guess what happened? Big oil, including Cheney and all his buddies, have gotten RICH while the rest of us are fucked again. So where was Graham on this issue then? We could have been working on alternative energy for the last 7 years (speaking in terms of emphasis within the government) ... we did not, the people are fucked, and now big oil wants to gain more area for drilling, which will not help us for TEN years?!? What fucking sense does ANY of that notion make?? Graham is TOTALLY off in space on this one.
Iraq is the center of the "war" against terrorism? That might be true (even though it is not a "war"), but WHY would that be the case? Iran has benefited more than any other country from our invasion of a sovereign nation. It is time to rethink Iraq and refocus on Afghanistan, just as Obama wants to do. It is past time.
I really thought Graham was gonna cry this morning. He is a sad sad man, pathetically influenced by his own party's militaristic ideology and, I HOPE, a great asset to Obama and the correct path forward for our country.
Thank you Joe Biden for a great outing this morning on Meet the Press. (By the way, that photo probably isn't from this morning, but no matter)
